A 3 bedroom 1.5 storey dwelling situated on a spectacular clifftop site in the seaside village of Monreith with blue sky days affording views of the Mull of Galloway, Isle of Man and even Ireland's Mountains of Mourne.

The not-so blue sky days set a challenge in ensuring the house was robust and carefully designed to withstand being pounded by the elements.

This house replaces an existing dwelling which was used by the clients as a holiday cottage for many years. At the heart of their new permanent home is an open plan kitchen/dining area with a large bay window and window seat facing the view. In addition to harnessing the solar gain benefits of its a southerly orientation, the house is highly insulated with an air source heat pump and heat recovery ventilation system ensuring minimal energy use.
